Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you based and do you travel?

I'm based on the South Shore of Massachusetts but will service areas of Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard.

I am happy to travel throughout Massachusetts! Any travel >45 minutes from my home base will incur a travel fee subject to distance.

Do you suggest locations for photos?

Yes! I am happy to recommend locations for photos that are aesthetically pleasing and work for your needs.

Are pets allowed?

Well behaved pets are encouraged. Just be mindful that if your pet is not cooperative it may take away from the number of photos I can capture.

Do you offer styling assistance?

Yes! I can absolutely provide assistance and recommendations based on the location and time of year. Overall, neutral palettes with limited prints/logos are preferred to maintain the timelessness of the photos and not compete with the beautiful locations we choose for the photos. Bright colors, reds and oranges tend to compete the attention away from scenery or your skin tones.

What is the best time of day for a session?

Ultimately, sunrise or sunset sessions provide the best lighting for photos. I understand that evening sessions provide a layer of complexity with little ones bedtimes but the lighting is really important to get beautiful pictures.

Not a perfect sunny day or sunset? No problem! Cloudy days also provide great natural lighting for outdoor photography. Cloudy and overcast days can also allow for sessions earlier in the day.

When will we get our photos?

You will receive the fully edited, online gallery link within 2 weeks of your session. You can download all the photos from the gallery, order prints from the store and share them with friends and family. The gallery link will expire 3 months after your session, make sure to download photos to ensure you don't lose access to those precious memories!

I've never had professional photos taken before. What should I expect?

Your experience should feel natural - no pressure! I focus on taking photos 'in the moment' with a few 'posed' photos mixed in. I'll provide some cues and suggestions as we walk around, but otherwise just have fun with it!
